Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico and is an American-Mexican actor. She also sings. When she was a kid she was subjected to racial taunts by American citizens of all races. In the 9th grade, she began to feel more secure after being praised by her teachers for her performance at school's audition. It not only boosted the confidence of her, but altered the direction of her professional career. In the year 22 she was able to graduate from the Julliard School of New York. In 1993 she made her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. Her most memorable break came from the role of The Lady of The Lake in the first Broadway version of Spamalot. The show won her the Tony Award and received great praise for the performance. The following year, in 2007 she was cast in the ABC series Grey's Anatomy and became more famous. As a professional singer, she's also produced a single as well as an extensive work. Also, she's an activist and fights to protect LGBT rights.
